Real Stories - Worst First DatePosted by Administrator
Submitted by a female from Massachusetts in the USA.
About two years ago I had the worse date of my life. I had signed up on one of those match sites and got a reply from a guy who was interested in me. We had emailed for a week or so and decided to meet for coffee and chat. You never know until you get to talk to a person what they are going to be like and in this case, I don't know if I could possibly have been more bored.
The minute we sat down over our coffee he had nothing but complaints about his ex wife. I tried to get some handle on his interests, hobbies, or what he liked to do in his spare time, but got nothing.
Several times he looked at me and said, "I thought you were going to be funny. You're not funny." I told him it depended on the circumstances and made a joke about that I was not about to jump up on the table and do the hula. I asked him what he would like to do for a date. Everything was an "I don't know." I spent about a half hour or so together and I left just figuring, "Well, one never knows and now I do."
Over a year later he called me. He had found my number in his desk. I had totally forgotten this guys name and was surprised when he called. He talked about how bad his life had been the last year and wanted to know if we could meet again. I sure wasn't in the mood to hear doom and gloom stories again so told him I seeing someone quite steadily. This was the easiest way to say no and not hurt his feelings.
I never want to be with someone who is a total drag. First dates are suppose to be kind of fun. This one was awful.
